Contract Type: 3 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Main Purpose / Role Overview
Federal Airlines requires the services of a Debtors Controller on a six-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will support the Finance Department by invoicing shuttle agents accurately and within the required periods, maintaining professional relationships with debtors and following up on outstanding payments.

Minimum Requirements
-Matric / Grade 12.
-A three-year Diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
-At least two years' experience in a debtors environment.
-Good Microsoft Excel skills.
-Good understanding of bookkeeping procedures.
-Ability to communicate, read and write in English.
-Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Advantageous / Preferred
-Relevant tertiary education in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
-Experience using Sage X3, Middleware and/or VRS.

Key Responsibilities
-Ensure lodges and agents are billed at the correct rates.
-Invoice outstanding bookings according to the applicable billing terms.
-Follow up on outstanding payments and match invoices to receipts.
-Complete the monthly customer age analysis and explain outstanding balances.
-Prepare staff and family travel salary-deduction invoices.
-Review daily bank-statement processing and allocate customer payments accurately.
-Attend to account queries and process approved credit notes and refunds.
-Send pre-payment invoices from Sage X3.
-Complete the required booking and payment allocations on Middleware/VRS.
-Provide debtor-related statistical information to Finance and Reservations when required.
